Duke and West Virginia to Meet in Sold-Out Greenbrier Tip-Off Matchup
Limited resort rooms remain available for Nov. 14 showdown inside Colonial Hall
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. (Sept. 10, 2025) – A sellout crowd will be on hand when Duke and West Virginia meet in a marquee women’s college basketball matchup at The Greenbrier on Nov. 14. The contest marks just the second-ever women’s game inside Colonial Hall at the historic West Virginia resort, and first-ever sellout crowd.
Further details are available at www.greenbriertipoff.com. A game time will be announced in the coming weeks.
The high-profile showdown between the Blue Devils and Mountaineers is part of the Greenbrier Tip-Off, which also includes an already announced four-game men’s River Division Nov. 15-16 featuring Cleveland St., Kent St., Wright State and Radford. Additionally, a Mountain Division will run Nov. 21-23 that will include the likes of Butler, South Carolina, Northwestern and Virginia.
Intersport, a Chicago-based sports marketing and events agency, owns and operates the Greenbrier Tip-Off and oversees all games under the event umbrella. Tickets for the men’s division games will go on sale September 17.
The matchup will be the third all-time meeting between Duke and West Virginia, with the Blue Devils winning both previous contests in 1995 and 1996. Duke is coming off a 29-win season and an Elite Eight appearance, while West Virginia has recorded back-to-back 25-win campaigns under head coach Mark Kellogg.
Intersport and The Greenbrier entered into a long-term partnership in 2023 to bring major college basketball to the resort destination. On Nov. 17, 2024, Radford and Navy squared off in the first women’s college basketball contest held at Colonial Hall.
Additionally, Intersport operates the annual Women’s College All-Star Game, which returned in 2024 after a nearly 20-year absence, and takes place on national championship weekend in April in the host city. In 2025, Intersport added the Women’s College All-Star Combine, which featured nearly 30 aspiring pros. In 2026, these events will take place in Phoenix.
