Game 3
Butler defeated Virginia, 80–73 in game No. 3 of the 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off Mountain Division at Colonial Hall behind a game-high 25 points from Finley Bizjack and a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double from Michael Ajayi. A sold-out crowd of 1,209 was on hand for the affair.
Butler shot 48.2% from the field and 40% from three, building a 44–42 halftime edge and never trailing over the final 16 minutes. The Bulldogs led for 38:19 and held a 43–39 rebounding advantage, including 14 offensive boards. Evan Haywood added nine points on 3-for-3 from deep in eight minutes, while Jalen Jackson scored 10 with four assists and 6-for-8 free-throw shooting.
Virginia’s Malik Thomas scored 24 and freshman Jacari White hit four threes for 14, but the Cavaliers shot 29.6% from distance and 46.7% at the line. Ugonna Onyenso blocked eight shots as UVA posted 11 team blocks and outscored Butler 42–36 in the paint, yet the Bulldogs answered with timely makes and a 20–29 night at the stripe.
Butler moves to 5-1 on the year, while UVA falls to 5-1 on the year.
Game 4
Northwestern shot 56.6% from the field and closed strong to edge South Carolina, 79–77 in the final contest of the 2025 Greenbrier Tip-Off. Nick Martinelli led all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-17 shooting, including 7-of-8 at the line, as the Wildcats led for 30:56 and survived a late Gamecocks push.
The Wildcats built a 36–34 halftime lead and stretched the margin to a game-high 12 with 4:52 left before South Carolina rallied within one possession in the final minutes. The Wildcats sealed it at the stripe after their last field goal with two seconds remaining. Max Green added 13 points (3-of-4 3FG), Arrinten Page posted 10 with six assists and two blocks, and Jayden Reid tallied eight points and nine assists. Northwestern finished 7-of-14 from three and 12-of-14 at the line, while outscoring South Carolina 44–32 in the paint and 20–9 in fast-break points.
South Carolina’s bench kept the Gamecocks close, producing 31 points. Elijah Strong scored 16 (3-of-5 3FG), Meechie Johnson had 15 with five assists, and Mike Sharavjamts added 12 points and eight rebounds.
